Team GB

Yesterday's Royal wedding has made me feel all patriotic.  It's really inspired me to paint up a "Team GB" kit.  Perhaps this is what the real Team GB will use in the 2012 Olympics? Or then again maybe not.....

1960s Palermo Away

The second kit I've been asked to paint is a Palermo away kit from the 1960's.

Here's how it turned out

Middlesbrough FC away kit

I've received a request to paint a couple of teams from a top 20 ESTFA ranked player. What an honour!  The ESTFA (English Subbuteo Table Football Association http://www.estfa.com/) oversee the playing side of subbuteo in England.  If you are interested in playing subbuteo and you're in England, the ESTFA website is a great source of information.  Not only does it provide you with updates of the current playing scene in England, it provides you with links to current active clubs, playing rules and current suppliers of equipment.  If you haven't done so already, please check out their website!

The first of 2 teams that I've been asked to paint is the current Middlesbrough away kit......but with a twist!  The away kit doesn't have the famous white band across the middle of the shirt; you'll notice that in the pictures below this kit does.

The figures are LW figures from the 80's.  Check out the hairdo's (or hairdon'ts as it should be called) it looks like they are wearing helmets!

Worcester City

A guy at my local Post Office is a big Worcester City supporter.  For those of you that don't know the team, Worcester City are in the Blue Square Bet North division; their website is http://www.worcestercityfc.co.uk/  He asked me to paint up 3 players; 1 in each kit for the current season.

This is how it turned out

L - R Away kit, Home kit, 3rd kit
If you are interested in getting a team painted in your local club colours, please get in contact.

Washington Diplomats - "The Dips"

Continuing with the HW teams and keeping the themes of Cruyff and the NASL, I've decided to paint up a team representing the Washington Diplomats - otherwise known as The Dips.

Out of all of the kits that The Dips had, the one I've painted up is the one that I like the most.

I'd like to say a big thank you to a fellow blogger at http://washingtondiplomats.blogspot.com/; your blog has been a great resource for me to refer to whilst painting up this team.

HW NY Cosmos

Next up in the HW series of teams I'm painting is New York Cosmos.  Famous for players such as Pele, Beckenbauer and Cruyff, the Cosmos were nicknamed "the most glamorous team in world football".  They were a bit before my time but I think the kit is very striking.  I was watching Football Focus on BBC a few weeks ago and they had a film about the NY Cosmos; it looks like they are making a comeback with none other than Eric Cantona as their manager!

Here's how its turned out on the little plastic men
