Tottenham Hotspur 2013/14 Home Kit

I thought I'd give this kit a go as Tottenham are the team I support.

After painting this kit, my wonderful wife said "oh, you've painted a team of sailors!"  Thanks then!

I'm still undecided as to whether I like this kit or not; if Spurs get into the Champions League or win a trophy this year I will love it; if they win sweet fa then it'll be another forgotten kit!

Star Wars Stormtroopers

I love Star Wars. I love Subbuteo.  Combining the 2 together is a match made in heaven!

I made a Star Wars team a couple of years back and have been meaning to paint this up for a long, long time.

I'm hoping Darth Vader in goal can use the dark side of the force to keep the goals out!

I've been asked to paint this up for a fellow WRP7 team member; he's asked for the socks to be from the home kit rather than the away.

I think it looks a bit like an old Barcelona kit!

The Euro Project - Part 4

You know when you get to that point when it suddenly becomes a bit of a chore? Well it's got to that point now.  Thank goodness I've only got a few left to do!

It was hard going, but I've managed to get the remaining 6 HW teams painted up in 2 days for the guys at Worcester River Plate 7.

I've really enjoyed painting the old kits from the 1970's and using the Santiago figures has made a nice change to the more modern 2K4 and 2K10 figures I have been painting.  The QPR was my first attempt at doing hoops on a kit; it was trickier than I thought it would be but I think its turned out ok.

1970's HW teams

Ah the classic HW. Much loved and probably the best figure to play the oldsubbuteo game to.

The Worcester River Plate 7 TFC (check out their website at http://www.wrp7.com/) will be playing a retro league after their current season has finished.  They have asked for each player to have their own HW team from the 1978/79 season.  I haven't painted up retro HW teams before, but thought it would be nice to give it a go.  After a bit of research, the kits can easily be found on various websites.  On my search through the local charity shops I came across 2 old football annuals from the 1979 season; Roy of the Rovers and Scorcher.  The Scorcher annual provides excellent drawings of what each teams kit looks like for that season.  I let the WRP7 players pick which team they wanted and now have a list of teams to produce.
