Southport FC

My latest request was to paint a Southport FC team.  For those of you who don't know who Southport are, they are an English football club, based in Southport, Merseyside. They are currently in the Conference National, and play their home matches at Haig Avenue. They are known by their nickname "The Sandgrounders".

This is my interpretation of how the current season's kit looks.

Superhero vs Supervillan

This is something that I have been meaning to paint for quite some time.  I've finally got around to doing it!

Some of the characters I have painted before in previous teams, others are a first for me.  I've always thought it would be good fun to play a game of subbuteo with a "good vs evil" theme.  You could play out a mini league with just these 2 teams and see who comes out on top.  It would be like mini battles in a never ending war!

Here's the teams

Superhero

Supervillan

Mr Fantastic, Robin, Batman

Green Lantern, Superman, Hulk

Cyclops, Spiderman, Ironman

Captain America, Daredevil

Doc Ock, Venom, Green Goblin

Joker, riddler, Red Skull

Dr Doom, Silver Surfer, Lex Luthor

Magneto, Sabretooth

PSV 1986/87

I've had another request for a team from the 80's!  This time it was a PSV kit from the 1986/87 season.  I've been told that there were 2 home kits for this season.  The one I've painted up is the preferred kit for the person that wanted the team.

The figures are 2k10, the bases are Image 2

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

The latest request for a team that I've received is based on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare computer game franchise.

I must be one of the only people in the world to not have played this game, so for me to paint it was quite a challenge as I was not at all familiar with the characters.

Hopefully they have all turned out as you would expect

Figures and bases are by Superfooty; available from World Table Soccer.  There's a link at the bottom of the blog for their website

Pirates of the Caribbean

"That's Captain Jack Sparrow"

If you haven't seen the film series "Pirates of the Caribbean", where have you been for the past 10 years?!?

I went to watch the 4th film last week; I completely forgot what a great range of characters there are.  I think that the first film has to be my favourite out of all 4.  Watching the latest film really inspired me to paint a team up on the little plastic men.

Here's how it turned out

Drakes Broughton Rangers FC

I've been contacted by a local football club to paint a few players for their end of season presentation evening.

The Drakes Broughton Rangers FC is based just outside of Pershore in Worcestershire.  The clubs players range from 8 - 15 years of age.  Their website is http://www.drakesbroughtonrangersfc.co.uk/  Hopefully they will like the teams that have been painted up in their home and away strips.

The below picture is a sample of the home and away kits

If you would like me to paint you a Subbuteo team of your local football club strip, please get in touch.

Flamurtari 1987 UEFA Cup

Next up in the LW teams that I'm painting is a team called Flamurtari, a team from Albania that played in the UEFA cup against FC Barcelona in 1987.  This is my interpretation of how the kit looked

If there is a team that you would like to be part of your collection, please get in contact.  I am happy to paint anything within reason!
